D&L Premium Foods Gets PEZA Incentives
Thursday, December 20, 2018D&L Industries Inc. said its unit D&L Premium Foods Corp. (DLPF) has received from the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) its certification as an ecozone export enterprise, manufacturing vegetable fats and oils and specialty food ingredients. “The DLPF facility is part of the expansion plans of the D&L Group, which will position the group to grow in the next 20 years,” the company said. DLPF is currently putting up its facility in First Industrial Township-Special Economic Zone in Tanauan, Batangas set to be commercially operational in 2021.
D&L earlier said it expects to spend P8 billion for the facility, covering the construction of the plant-specific buildings, machineries, and equipment, which also covers the facility for another unit Natura Aeropack Corp. D&L Premium Foods is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Oleo-fats, Inc. (OFI), incorporated to cater to the growing export business for food. Natura Aeropack, on the other hand, is 70 percent owned by D&L unit Chemrez Technologies, Inc. and 30 percent owned by Aero-Pack Industries, Inc.
“Natura’s facilities will be dedicated for the manufacture of coconut oil fractions, coconut-based surfactants, and downstream packaging for consumer products which are sustainable, naturally derived, mild and non-irritant. Product applications extend to health care, personal care, home care as well as baby care,” D&L said.
