Destinations of Coconut Oil Export in September

Export of coconut oil in September consisted of 68,288 MT crude coconut oil, 12,774 MT cochin (refined, bleached) oil, and 12,062 MT RBD (refined, bleached, and deodorized) oil. Combined value of the three products was USD86.388 million. Europe was top importer of the three types of oil combined at 42,811 MT representing 46.0% of aggregate, followed by the US at 30,661 MT (32.9%), Malaysia at 12,033 MT (12.9%), China 4,173 MT (4.5%) and Japan 1,783 MT (1.9%).  

Europe remained primary destination of crude coconut oil at 42,501 MT (Netherlands), with the US distance behind at 13,200 MT, Malaysia at 11,980 MT, China 607 MT.  The US, however, was market leader in cochin oil at 10,771 MT, trailed by Japan at 1,750 MT, Argentina 103 MT, Mexico 73 MT, Europe 51 MT (Netherlands 21, United Kingdom 30), New Zealand 22 MT, Australia 3 MT.

The US likewise was major buyer of RBD oil at 6,690 MT, followed by China at 3,566 MT, Canada 343 MT, Saudi Arabia 343 MT, Europe 260 MT (Netherlands), Mexico 137 MT, Argentina 129 MT, Bangladesh 120 MT, Pakistan 104 MT, Taiwan 104 MT, Iran 91 MT, Malaysia 53 MT, Singapore 39 MT, Japan 33 MT, Vietnam 17 MT, Hong Kong 16 MT, Indonesia 10 MT, South Korea 10 MT.
