...Activated Carbon Export Also Up in January

Figures from Sri Lanka’s Coconut Development Authority similarly show the country’s export of activated carbon was slightly up by 3.6% at 3,429 MT in January this year from 3,310 MT in the same month year-ago. Turnover at USD8.197 million increased by 15.6% from previous year at USD7.092 million. Average traded price calculated at USD2,390.63/MT FOB was 11.6% higher compared to prior year at USD2,142.74/MT. 

Export during the month went to at least 27 countries. The top seven importers held volumes above 100 MT and collectively accounted for 75.1% of total trade.  Market leader was the United States with 1,126 MT (32.8% share).  Following far behind were China with 370 MT (10.8%), Germany with 366 MT (10.7%), India with 361 MT (10.5%), South Korea 136 MT (4.0%), France 112 MT (3.3%) and Ukraine 104 MT (3.0%).  Twenty other countries took in limited volume ranging 1-96 MT and jointly contributed 24.9%.
