Destinations of Coconut Oil Export in August

Export of coconut oil in August consisted of 63,535 MT crude coconut oil, 5,190 MT cochin (refined, bleached) oil, and 17,238 MT RBD (refined, bleached, and deodorized) oil. The combined value of shipment was USD76.086 million.
Europe remained top destination for the three oil types with delivery of 31,046 MT, followed by the US at 14,360 MT, Malaysia at 13,602 MT, Indonesia at 10,500 MT, South Korea at 7,045 MT, China at 4,396 MT, Sri Lanka at 2,081 MT, and Japan at 1,756 MT rounding up the top eight.
Bulk of Europe’s uptake was crude coconut oil with this month total at 30,795 MT (Netherlands 28,794, Poland 2,001), making the continent leading crude coconut oil destination. Malaysia followed with delivery of 13,121 MT, trailed by Indonesia 10,500 MT, the US 8,801 MT, and with limited volume going to Sri Lanka 301 MT and Taiwan 17 MT. However, the US led in cochin oil trade at 3,465 MT. The only other market was Japan at 1,725 MT.
Shipment of RBD oil lately has exceeded cochin oil. This was observed in May and July this year and in the current review month. Leading importer during the month was South Korea with orders of 7,045 MT, tracked by China at 4,396 MT, the US at 2,093 MT, Sri Lanka 1,779 MT. Smaller loads went to Malaysia at 481 MT, Singapore 412 MT, Europe 251 MT (Netherlands 191, Poland 41, Czech Republic 19), Pakistan 206 MT, Argentina 151 MT, Taiwan 150 MT, and 11 other countries with loads ranging 1-45 MT that included Ecuador, Australia, Turkey, Bangladesh, Canada, Japan, Mexico, South Africa, New Zealand, Thailand, Hong Kong.
