New Beverage Launches in November

Thursday, November 26, 2020

Beverage Daily released on November 17 its list of “new beverage products hitting the shelves around the globe” for this month.  Included in the list was Vita Coco Boosted, a beverage blending coconut water and MCT oil.  “Unlike its competitors, Boosted provides much needed energy without a large list of artificial ingredients and sweeteners: 40 mg of caffeine from tea for natural energy, B vitamins for additional energy and mental clarity, and electrolytes from coconut water to keep you hydrated and replenished, unlike other caffeinated beverages,” says the brand.  Vita Coco Boosted is available for purchase on Amazon in three cafe-inspired flavors - vanilla latte, coconut chocolate, and chai. It will hit US retail stores in January 2021.

A couple of new launches also either have coconut as flavor or ingredient.  Australia’s Honeysuckle Distillery launched two RTD lines including hard seltzers.  Its 4.8% ABV spritz tropical vodka crush contains vodka mango, coconut spritz.  On the other hand, plant-based brand Koia has launched new RTD Koia Fruit Smoothies, which it believes have the lowest sugar, only 9 grams of total sugar per bottle, compared with the leading smoothie at 53 grams of sugar, according to the brand.  There are four flavours: Magic Mango, Rise & Shine, Straw-nana Dream, and Tropical Passion which apart low sugar also contain prebiotic fiber in the form of baobab powder and chicory root, plant protein (pea protein); and coconut.  Koia Fruit Smoothie is available at Whole Foods Market across the US.
