PH Celebrates the 25th National Exporters’ Week

The National Exporters’ Week (NEW) this year was held on December 02-07 with the National Export Congress (NEC) as highlight.  This is the second year in a row that the congress was held virtually.  Organized by the Department of Trade and Industry-Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB), the Export Development Council (EDC), and the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. (PHILEXPORT), the NEC adapted theme, “A.R.I.S.E. Exports: Accelerate Rebuilding, Innovation, Support, and Empowerment of Philippine Exports”. The theme aims to emphasize the:

Need to fast-track the recovery of the export industry and the role of exports as a driving force to steer and accelerate economic rebuilding; Importance of innovation, digital transformation, new technologies, and technology-based business solutions in ensuring long-term competitiveness of Philippine exports; and Need to support and empower exporters to become more resilient and thrive despite global challenges. 

At the NEC, top exporters of goods and services were recognized for their contribution to the country’s growth and development.  From the coconut industry, Cargill Oil Mills Philippines, Inc. received the award for top coconut oil exporter for the year 2020.  Another awardee was desiccated coconut manufacturer Franklin Baker Company of the Philippines.
