Indonesian Palm Oil Output Down in October 2021, Export Up

Figures from the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI) show the country produced 4.404 million MT of palm oil in October, lower by 3.2% compared to September at 4.176 million MT. The 10-month total to October was 38.892 million MT, fractionally lower than similar period year-ago at 39.179 million MT.  The group has projected palm oil production in 2021 to reach 47.472 million MT vs. 47.034 million MT year-earlier.
The country’s export of palm oil increased 13.5% in October to 2.655 million MT from 2.368 million MT in September.  The biggest increase was seen in processed palm oil of 13.5% at 2.508 million MT from 2.210 million MT, while crude palm oil export fell 7.0% at 147,000 MT from 158,000 MT. 
The biggest export growth was observed to Egypt at 203.3% from that of September to 165,100 MT.  Export to European Union increased by 26.8%, to China by 11.8% but dropped to India by 26.0%.
