Combined Activated Carbon Export of Selected Countries Up in May

Collated country data of the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Indonesia derived from ICC (International Coconut Community) figures showed combined activated carbon export of the three countries in May rose 8.9% to 13,689 MT from 12,575 MT in the same month a year ago.  Much of the growth during the month came from the Philippines whose export leaped 20.2% to 7,051 MT from 5,865 MT.   Shipment from Sri Lanka was little changed at 4,796 MT from last year at 4,781 MT (+0.3%) while supplies from Indonesia declined 4.5% at 1,842 MT from 1,929 MT. 
Aggregate figure in January-May likewise was higher year-on-year.  Total for the current year was 67,550 MT, exceeding by 7.9% same period year-ago at 62,630 MT.  All countries recorded increases led by the Philippines with total at 34,779 MT rising 13.6% from 30,626 MT.  Indonesia hiked export by 4.1% at 11,011 MT from 10,582 MT as well as Sri Lanka by a slower 1.6% at 21,760 MT from 21,422 MT.
