Overseas trade of desiccated coconut in August at 11,722 MT turned in USD27.431 million, down 26.2% from previous year at USD37.165 million largely due to lower sales volume.  The US still led, topping 36 other countries with uptake at 4,292 MT (36.6%), trailed by Netherlands at 1,684 MT (14.4%) and Russia at 1,026 MT (8.8%).  The next four major buyers together shared 18.5%: China at 722 MT, Australia 486 MT, Canada 481 MT and Germany 478 MT.  

Smaller orders ranging 106-306 MT were made by 10 other countries which collectively shared 16.2%.  This included United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, France, Turkey, Iraq, Taiwan, Belgium, Sweden, Israel.  However, volumes below 100 MT (5-68 MT range) were delivered to 20 countries, namely Colombia, South Africa, Thailand, Ecuador, Uruguay, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Lithuania, Norway, Mexico, Malaysia, Chile, Slovak Republic, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Poland, Czech Republic, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore.  This group accounted for 5.6% of the market.

Overseas purchases of desiccated coconut in June totaled 13,725 MT worth USD34.623 million.  Market continued diverse counting 41 country buyers this month and still led by the US with orders of 4,371 MT representing 31.9% of total sales, trailed by Netherlands at 1,837 MT (13.4%).  The next six buyers complete the top eight and together account for 34.7% namely, Turkey 942 MT, Brazil 908 MT, Australia 801 MT, Canada 770 MT, China 746 MT, and Japan 590 MT.

Other big outlets took in volume ranging 102-435 MT and collectively shared 15.7% from total volume of 2,159 MT.  This included Russia, Germany, South Korea, United Kingdom, Indonesia, Israel, Georgia, France, Sweden, and Malaysia.  On the other hand, limited loads ranging 0.33-80 MT went to 23 other countries, the combined contribution of which was 4.4% for aggregate volume of 600 MT.  This comprised of Thailand, Ireland, Taiwan, New Zealand, Colombia, Norway, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Argentina, Chile, Saudi Arabia, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, Portugal, Venezuela, Egypt, Kuwait, Vietnam, Belgium, Greece, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, Singapore.

External trade of desiccated coconut in May totaled 13,147 MT and was valued USD34.406 million.  The US was principal market leading 42 others with uptake at 4,662 MT; this represented over a third (35.5%) of total sales.  Netherlands followed with 1,552 MT or 11.8% and four others whose combined market share was 22.8% namely, China 861 MT, Australia 768 MT, Turkey 762 MT and United Kingdom 609 MT.
Fifteen other countries took in volume in the range 201-470 MT and together was responsible for 17.1%.  This comprised of Brazil, France, Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Germany, South Korea.  On the other hand, eight countries held volume in the 100 MT range (101-193 MT) and jointly accounted for 8.6% such as Spain, Argentina, Thailand, South Africa, Sweden, Chile, Colombia, Russia.
The remaining 22 other countries took in volumes under 100 MT in the range 0.30-86 MT namely, Taiwan, Georgia, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Estonia, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Poland, United Arab Emirates, Ecuador, Indonesia, Ireland, Latvia, Norway, Lithuania, Slovak Republic, Italy, El Salvador, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, India.  The group contributed 4.2% to total trade.
