Data from Oil World show the United States imported 92,800 MT of lauric oils in July, exceeding by 5.6% import in July a year ago at 87,900 MT.  Coconut oil was 53,100 MT or 57.2% of the total and palm kernel oil was 39,700 MT or 42.8%.  The increase in import was largely attributed to coconut oil which climbed 9.7% from 48,400 MT.  Prior year import of palm kernel oil was 39,500 MT, a flat growth at 0.5%.
Bulk of lauric oil delivery during the month came from Indonesia at 45,400 MT (47,100 MT last year), largely comprised of palm kernel oil at 36,700 MT (36,500 MT) with coconut oil at only 8,700 MT (10,600 MT).  The Philippine was second major supplier at 33,700 MT (27,800 MT) which was exclusively coconut oil.  This was followed by India which shipped 9,100 MT (5,900 MT) which likewise was solely coconut oil and representing 9.8% market share.
Shipment from Malaysia was 2,900 MT (6,000 MT) and contributed 3.1%.  This included 300 MT (3,200 MT) coconut oil and 2,600 MT (2,800 MT) palm kernel oil.  Other countries delivered 1,700 MT (1,100 MT) made up of 1,300 MT (900 MT) coconut oil and 400 MT (200 MT) palm kernel oil.
The cumulative import figure for January-July was 495,900 MT, slightly higher by 1.4% from 502,800 MT at the same time last year.  Coconut oil was 307,200 MT (259,800 MT) of which 60.8% came from the Philippines or 186,800 MT (154,400 MT).  Palm kernel oil was 188,700 MT (243,000 MT) of which 90.5% or 170,800 MT (189,200 MT) was sourced from Indonesia.
