Performance of Top Non-Traditional Coconut Products Export in June (Part 2)

Following last week’s top 11 non-traditional coconut products export (revenue of at least USD100,000 in a month as qualifier to the category) are coco chips, nata de coco, coir & coir products, coco dust/peat, coconut meat (chips, dried, sliced, grated), coconut flour, makapuno, coconut syrup, and coconut sugar.   
Export of COCO CHIPS generated USD706,841 from shipment of 216 MT (no report last year).  Bulk of the load went to the US at 172 MT (79.4%).  Other destinations were South Korea 23 MT (10.6%), Vietnam 13 MT (5.9%) and Belgium 9 MT (4.0%).
Delivery of NATA DE COCO at 606 MT (412 MT) earned USD615,994 with Japan as primary destination at 352 MT (58.1%), trailed by the US at 119 MT (19.7%), and Canada 69 MT (11.4%) which rounded up the top three markets.  Nearly a dozen other countries with uptake lower than 18 MT comprised the balance 10.8% namely, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, Australia, Oman, Singapore, Taiwan, Guam, Papua New Guinea, Jordan, Iceland.
COIR & COIR PRODUCTS which turned in USD515,105 from orders of 1,721 MT (1,507 MT) almost exclusively went to China at 1,545 MT (89.9%).  Other buyers were USA, Japan, and Hong Kong.  On the other hand, COCO DUST/PEAT shipment of 9,074 MT (8,733 MT) valued USD504,565 was solely delivered to China.
COCONUT MEAT (from young and mature coconuts, prepared either as chips, dried, sliced, or grated) registered turnover of USD443,904 from volume of 228 MT (82 MT).  Destinations were Iraq 165 MT, China 36 MT, Australia 19 MT, the US 8 MT.
Foreign trade of COCONUT FLOUR amounting to 167 MT (467 MT) posted receipts of USD148,062.  Germany led seven other buyers following its uptake of 42 MT (25.1%).  This included Russia 36 MT (21.2%), China 24 MT (14.5%), the US 23 MT (13.6%), South Korea 23 MT (13.6%), Australia 17 MT (10.3%), and Taiwan and Japan.
MAKAPUNO sold 98 MT (217 MT) costing USD146,086.  More than half (50.5%) of the total went to the US at 50 MT.  Other major buyers were Saudi Arabia 21 MT (21.6%), Qatar 16 MT (16.0%), Canada 6 MT (6.1%), and seven others which purchased the remaining 5.8% namely, Australia, Japan, Kuwait, New Zealand, Singapore, Iceland, Guam.
COCONUT SYRUP and COCONUT SUGAR made it to the top non-traditional export list.  The former turned in USD124,206 after selling 50 MT exclusively to Sri Lanka.  Coconut sugar earned USD104,046 from orders of 29 MT made by Germany 18 MT (63.5%) and Japan 11 MT (36.5%).
