Thursday, October 12, 2023Overseas purchases of desiccated coconut in June amounting to 14,746 MT turned in USD22.625 million. The product was shipped to 49 various countries, the highest so far recorded in a month. The USA was primary destination cornering 3,447 MT or nearly one-fourth (23.4%) of total, followed by Netherlands at 2,322 MT (15.7%), and Germany at 1,011 MT (6.9%), which made up the top three export markets.
The next six importing countries jointly accounted for 31.8%: Turkey 968 MT, China 959 MT, Russia 821 MT, Canada 770 MT, Australia 646 MT, United Kingdom 521 MT. Smaller volumes (117-306 MT range) were delivered to 13 other countries which collectively shared 16.2%. This included Malaysia, Japan, France, New Zealand, South Africa, Uruguay, Singapore, Italy, South Korea, Brazil, Spain, Sweden, Poland.
On the other hand, orders below 100 MT in the range 5-90 MT, went to 27 country buyers and together shared 6%. This comprised of Lithuania, Argentina, Venezuela, Taiwan, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates, Israel, Chile, Thailand, Colombia, Portugal, Egypt, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Ireland, Qatar, Puerto Rico, Czech Republic, Fiji, Latvia, Hong Kong, Norway, Belgium, Estonia, Saudi Arabia, Denmark.

External trade of desiccated coconut in May at 14,861 MT generated USD23.150 million in foreign exchange. Desiccated coconut has the most diversified market among the coconut products exported and for this month logged 44 importing countries, led by the Netherlands and the USA. The former cornered 21.4% or 3,184 MT and the USA with almost equal market share at 21.3% or 3,164 MT.
The next six countries together captured 32.4% of total sales: China at 925 MT, Russia at 915 MT, Australia at 905 MT, Canada at 892 MT, Germany at 601 MT, United Kingdom at 574 MT. On the other hand, smaller orders ranging 101-415 MT were made by 13 countries which collectively accounted for 19.5%. This included Malaysia, France, Turkey, Argentina, Japan, Belgium, South Korea, Spain, Uruguay, South Africa, Brazil, Singapore, Chile.
Meanwhile, 23 other countries were recipients of loads below 100 MT (0.04-96 MT range) which together comprised 5.4% of the market. This consisted of New Zealand, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, Croatia, Mexico, Israel, Ireland, Portugal, Lithuania, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Colombia, Italy, United Arab Emirates, Poland, Peru, Denmark, Vietnam.

Export of desiccated coconut in November at 11,531 MT turned in USD20.999 million. The top three markets were the Netherlands at 2,502 MT (21.7%), the US at 2,369 MT (20.5%), and Brazil at 1,038 MT (9.0%). The next five importing countries collectively accounted for 20.4% and comprised of Russia 538 MT, China 536 MT, Germany 442 MT, Turkey 426 MT, Australia 407 MT.
Nearly a dozen other countries also took in significant volume in the range 143-385 MT and jointly contributed 22.2% to total sales. This included France, Canada, Belgium, Israel, South Korea, Japan, United Kingdom, Spain, Argentina, Taiwan, Thailand. On the other hand, a total of 25 market destinations took in loads ranging 1-99 MT and shared 6.2%. This comprised of Indonesia, Chile, Columbia, Malaysia, South Africa, Jordan, Costa Rica, Sweden, New Zealand, Austria, Mexico, Poland, Venezuela, Norway, Egypt, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Ecuador, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam.
