Performance of Philippine Top Non-Tradiotional Coconut Products Exports in May (Part 2)

Following shows details about the remaining seven leading non-traditional exports (ranked 11th-17th), namely Biodiesel, Nata de Coco, Coconut Milk Liquid, Coir & Coir Products, Coco Flour, Coco Peat/Dust, Young Coconut.  These products had export earnings ranging USD104,495-560,519 during the month. 

BIODIESEL export generated USD560,519 from shipment of 382 MT (no export last year), bulk of which at 244 MT (63.8%) went to South Korea. Other destinations were Spain at 80 MT (20.9%) and Japan at 59 MT (15.3%).

NATA DE COCO turned in USD511,133 from delivery of 426 MT (322 MT) with Japan as market leader at 106 MT (24.8%), followed by the USA at 82 MT (19.2%), United Arab Emirates 74 MT (17.3%), Qatar 40 MT (9.4%), Canada 39 MT (9.1%), Australia 36 MT (8.4%), and six others with uptake ranging 2-18 MT.  The latter group included New Zealand, Bahrain, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Denmark.

COCONUT MILK LIQUID had earnings of USD505,218 and total sales of 392 MT (3,797 MT).  Major markets were United Kingdom at 136 MT (34.8%) and Malaysia at 118 MT (30.2%), tracked by Netherlands 71 MT (18.1%), USA 48 MT (12.2%), China 17 MT (4.3%), Australia 1 MT.

COIR & PRODUCTS contributed USD176,562 from order amounting to 1,417 MT (1,521 MT).  China virtually bought the whole month’s shipment at 1,401 MT (98.8%) and the rest went to Japan.

COCONUT FLOUR turnover was USD175,743 MT from overseas purchases of 195 MT (240 MT).  The USA was principal market at 64 MT (32.9%) trailed by Germany 36 MT (18.2%), Argentina 25 MT (13.0%), Canada 24 MT (12.5%), Australia 17 MT (8.7%), United Kingdom 13 MT (6.7%), China 13 MT (6.7%), the balance was shared by Peru and Switzerland.

COCO PEAT/DUST export of 2,191 MT (8,969 MT) worth USD122,937 was solely delivered to China.

YOUNG COCONUT (chips/meat, dried, sliced) shared USD104,495 in export receipts.  Total volume sold was 36 MT (71) with the USA responsible for more than one-half at 21 MT (58.3%).  Three other countries namely China, New Zealand, Australia respectively bought 7 MT (19.4%), 6 MT (16.7%), and 2 MT (5.6%).
