Performance of Philippine Top Non-Traditional Coconut Products Exports in October (Part 2)
Thursday, March 7, 2024Following shows details about the performance of the seven other leading non-traditional exports (ranked 11th-17th), namely Young Coconut (chips/meat, dried, sliced), Coco Chips, Coconut Acid Oil, Coco Peat/Dust, Nata de Coco, Coir & Coir Products, Coco Vinegar.
YOUNG COCONUT (chips/meat, dried, sliced) turned in USD644,115 from shipment of 198 MT (no export last year). Germany was top destination taking in 50 MT (25.3%), trailed by Canada at 31 MT (15.9%), Malaysia 26 MT (13.2%), Japan 21 MT (10.6%), South Korea 20 MT (9.9%), Australia 16 MT (8.3%), Qatar 12 MT (6.2%), and seven others which took in much lower loads ranging 0.33-9 MT. The latter group included the USA, Netherlands, New Zealand, Lebanon, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong.
Overseas purchases of COCO CHIPS amounting to 165 MT (1 MT) were valued USD478,952. There were four importing countries led by the USA at 77 MT (46.8%), trailed by Vietnam 51 MT (31.1%), Puerto Rico 23 MT (14.3%) and South Korea 13 MT (7.8%).
Delivery of COCO ACID OIL at 847 MT (62 MT) generated USD472,499. The shipment was shared by China and India. China received 547 MT (64.6%) and India 300 MT (35.4%).
On the other hand, China was the sole importer of COCO PEAT/DUST during the month. Volume was 5,502 MT (6,563 MT) and worth USD262,804.
NATA DE COCO turnover was USD242,756 from orders of 286 MT (210 MT). Japan remained the top market at 175 MT (61.2%), tracked by USA 64 MT (22.5%), China 26 MT (8.9%). Seven other countries purchased lesser volume ranging 0.10-8 MT namely Netherlands, Canada, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam.
Export of COIR & COIR PRODUCTS was worth USD257,937 at volume of 1,122 MT (1,394 MT). China was virtually an exclusive buyer cornering 1,071 MT (95.4%). The remainder was absorbed by Japan 33 MT, Netherlands 9 MT, Switzerland 9 MT.
International trade of COCO VINEGAR generated USD103,022 from delivery of 100 MT (25 MT). Italy led the pack at 24 MT (24.3%), followed by USA at 19 MT (18.6%), Netherlands 12 MT (12.2%), Canada 10 MT (10.2%), United Kingdom 8 MT (7.8%), Australia 7 MT (6.8%), New Zealand 6 MT (5.6%), France 5 MT (5.0%) and seven other countries with orders ranging 0.02-4 MT such as United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Lebanon, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Denmark.
