Performance of Philippine Top Non-Traditional Coconut Products Exports in December (Part 2)

The following shows details of the next seven leading non-traditional coconut products exports (ranked 11th-17th) namely Coco Chips, Biodiesel, Coco Peat/Dust, Coconut Acid Oil, Nata de Coco, Shampoo, Coir & Coir Products.
COCONUT CHIPS export in December at 212 MT was worth USD467,158. The volume jumped 703.7% from last year’s only 26 MT. Bulk of the month’s shipment went to the USA at 182 MT (85.9%), followed some distance behind by Saudi Arabia at 24 MT (11.3%). Three other countries absorbed the balance of 6 MT: Netherlands, Indonesia, United Arab Emirates.
Shipment of BIODIESEL turned in USD404,897 from sale of 274 MT. This month’s load nearly doubled (+88.1%) last year’s 146 MT. South Korea was the leading importer responsible for 175 MT (64.0%), trailed by Japan at 59 MT (21.4%), and Spain at 40 MT (14.6%).
COCO PEAT/DUST generated USD302,199 from delivery of 4,599 MT. The volume, however, was 19.8% down from the prior year at 5,733 MT. All shipments went to China.
On the other hand, COCONUT ACID OIL export of 473 MT (141 MT last year) had China and India as importers. The former took in 268 MT (56.6%) and India 205 MT (43.4%). Turnover amounted to USD259,575.
NATA DE COCO earnings totaled USD210,323 from overseas purchases of 217 MT (422 MT). Japan remained the leading buyer at 132 MT (60.9%), trailed by Canada at 37 MT (17.0%), USA 22 MT (9.9%), Australia 14 MT (6.6%), Taiwan 9 MT (4.1%) and Netherlands 3 MT (1.5%).
SHAMPOO reported gross export receipts of USD172,120 from orders of 57 MT (81 MT). Qatar was top outlet at 33 MT (57.3%), followed by Mongolia at 13 MT (22.4%), Malaysia 5 MT (8.8%), Vietnam at 3 MT (5.3%). The balance was shared among Singapore, the USA and Taiwan.
COIR & COIR PRODUCTS shipment totaled 988 MT (1,015 MT) valued at USD130,370. China was almost an exclusive destination cornering 963 MT (96.7%). The rest was handled by Japan at 25 MT.
