Destinations of Coconut Oil Export in June

Export of coconut oil consisted of 51,836 MT crude coconut oil, 27,191 MT of cochin (refined, bleached) oil, and 44,925 MT of RBD (refined, bleached, deodorized or fully refined) oil. The combined value of the coconut oil export mix was USD151.553 million.
The USA and Europe remained top destinations with combined market share of 78.7%, each splitting the share almost equally with USA’s 48,857 MT contributing 39.5% in the export mix, and Europe’s 48,472 MT sharing 39.2%. Following behind were Indonesia at 6,000 MT (4.9%), Malaysia 5,677 MT (4.6%), Japan 4,747 MT (3.8%), China 3,826 MT (3.1%), South Korea 3,212 MT (2.6%), Sri Lanka 1,849 MT (1.5%) and 11 others of much smaller offtakes.
Europe continued as the leading market for crude coconut oil at 34,400 MT (Netherlands), trailed by the USA at 8,000 MT, Indonesia at 6,000 MT, Malaysia at 3,000 MT and Sri Lanka at 436 MT. The USA led in cochin oil at 18,419 MT, followed by Japan at 4,690 MT, Europe at 4,065 MT (Netherlands), and Brazil at 17 MT.
The USA also was market leader in RBD coconut oil with uptake during the month at 22,438 MT, tracked by Europe at 10,009 MT (Netherlands 5,339; Latvia 4,000; Belgium 127; Germany 78; Austria 68; United Kingdom 63; Slovenia 61; Poland 39; France 31; Spain 3). Third major destination was China at 3,826 MT, followed by South Korea at 3,212 MT, Malaysia at 2,677 MT, Sri Lanka at 1,413 MT. Smaller loads went to Iraq at 309 MT, Singapore 226 MT, Australia 147 MT, Bangladesh 138 MT, Taiwan 137 MT, Brazil 109 MT, Pakistan 81 MT, Vietnam 72 MT, Japan 57 MT, South Africa 45 MT, Canada 25 MT, Argentina 5 MT.
