Coconut, Dairy Farming Integration to Boost both Industry Sectors

The National Dairy Authority (NDA) will push for the integration of the coconut and dairy industry in Central Visayas to bolster production in both sectors.  According to Dennis Madlos, project development officer of NDA-7 (Central Visayas), it is NDA’s desire to improve the production of quality milk from dairy cattle that the agency provides the coconut farmers.
He said, NDA is one of the implementers of the Coconut-Dairy Integration Project to be led by the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) under the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP).  Under the program, the agency will provide coconut farmers cows that can produce good quality milk which can be a source of additional income for them.  The project is funded by Coconut Farmers and Industry Trust Fund.
