Destinations of Coconut Oil Export in October 2024

Data from the PSA also revealed the coconut oil export in October consisted of 117,557 MT crude coconut oil, 8,171 MT cochin (refined, bleached) oil and 31,437 MT RBD (refined, bleached, deodorized or fully refined) oil.  The combined revenue from the export mix was USD233.925 million (USD104.057 million a year earlier).
Europe remained a leading destination of coconut oil during the month, controlling 36.1% of the export mix or 56,728 MT.  Malaysia followed with 38,774 MT (24.7% share), the USA at 35,139 MT (22.4%), Indonesia at 16,000 MT (10.2%), China at 6,101 MT (3.9%) and Japan at 2,935 MT.  Together the six outlets comprised 99.2% of the market. 
Europe was still market leader in crude coconut oil cornering 55,016 MT (54,820 Netherlands, 132 MT Bulgaria, 22 MT Croatia, 22 MT Poland, 20 MT United Kingdom). The next biggest markets were Malaysia at 32,091 MT, Indonesia at 16,000 MT, and the USA at 14,221 MT, while limited volume went to Pakistan at 123 MT and Australia at 106 MT. On the other hand, the top importer of cochin oil was the USA at 5,220 MT, trailed by Japan at 2,850 MT and China at 101 MT.  
In the case of RBD coconut oil, the USA also took the lead at 15,699 MT, tracked by Malaysia at 6,683 MT, China at 6,000 MT and completing the top four markets was Europe at 1,712 MT.  Collectively they accounted for 95.7% of total lifting.  Shipment to Europe went to Belgium at 862 MT, Netherlands 568 MT, Slovenia 223 MT, France and Lithuania at 20 MT apiece, and Germany at 19 MT. Smaller orders were made  by Sri Lanka at 683 MT, Singapore at 223 MT, Australia at 136 MT, Taiwan at 112 MT, Japan at 85 MT, Brazil 42 MT, Mexico 39 MT, Canada 12 MT, and Qatar 10 MT.
