Performance of Philippine Top Non-Traditional Coconut Products Exports in January 2025 (part 2)

The following shows details of the next seven major non-traditional coconut products exports in January (ranked 11th-17th) namely Dried Mature Coconut Meat, Nata de Coco, Coconut Meat Chips, Coconut Acid Oil, Coco Peat/Dust, Makapuno, and Coconut Flour.
DRIED MATURE COCONUT MEAT (in chips, ground, grated or sliced) other than desiccated coconut registered revenue of USD654,208 after trading 489 MT (no export last year). China took in bulk of the shipment at 383 MT (78.4%) and the balance of 106 MT (21.6%) went to South Korea. Last month, both countries likewise were the only importers of this product.
NATA DE COCO earned USD284,176 from deliveries of 258 MT, more than twice last year’s data at 120 MT (+114.3%). Japan remained the top buyer with uptake at 175 MT (68.0%). Other importers were Netherlands at 36 MT (13.9%), USA at 26 MT (10.0%), Canada at 11 MT (4.4%) and three others which took in much smaller loads such as the United Kingdom 4 MT, Australia 3 MT, and France 1 MT.
COCO MEAT CHIPS had turnover of USD 277,725 from shipment of 94 MT, increasing by 45.0% the prior year figure at 65 MT. There were three destinations reported, led by the USA which was responsible for nearly three-fourths (72.7%) of total sales or 68 MT. The balance was equally shared by South Korea and Vietnam at 13 MT apiece.
COCONUT ACID OIL generated USD256,996 from orders of 365 MT, a steep drop by 59.9% from 908 MT last year. China was the only market recorded during the month.
International trade of COCO PEAT/DUST of 3,316 MT was a reduction by 7.0% from last year at 3,564 MT but turned in USD178,683. China was almost an exclusive destination during the month responsible for 98.7% of total deliveries or 3,273 MT. Taiwan took in the remainder at 43 MT (1.3%).
MAKAPUNO export at 71 MT registered proceeds of USD140,090. Traded volume was a massive leap of 157.3% from only 28 MT in the preceding year. Key markets were the USA at 24 MT (33.8%), Canada at 18 MT (25.5%), and Netherlands at 10 MT (14.4%). Other destinations were United Kingdom at 6 MT (8.4%), New Zealand 6 MT (8.4%), United Arab Emirates 5 MT (7.6%), and Australia at 1 MT (1.9%).
COCO FLOUR reported income of USD131,867. Total volume sold at 114 MT was an impressive increase by 45.1% from 79 MT of the preceding year. The USA and South Korea were the only country importers during the month. The former was responsible for 59.8% or 68 MT and South Korea 40.2% or 46 MT.
