Brazillian Government Opts for Local Origin Biodiesel
Thursday, April 23, 2026
The government of Brazil reinforced the requirement of national origin of biodiesel used in the mandatory mixture of diesel, TheDigest reported on April 06 citing CNN report.
The decision was taken by the CNPE (National Council of Energy Policy) and recognizes as of interest to energy policy that all biodiesel used in diesel B is produced by units authorized by the ANP (National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels), TheDigest wrote.
In practice, the measure consolidates the priority for domestic production within the mandatory mixture and reduces the space for the entry of imported biodiesel, a theme that had been defended by the market, the report added.
