External trade of desiccated coconut in January at 11,892 MT was valued at USD40.546 million, a steep leap by 52.5% from USD26.595 million a year earlier.  The commodity was channeled to 45 various countries led by the USA with uptake at 2,353 MT or 19.8% of total sales, tracked by Netherlands at 1,684 MT (14.2%), Turkey at 1,281 MT (10.8%), and Canada at 1,031 MT (8.7%).
The next set of major country buyers collectively account for 21.8% comprising of Germany at 714 MT, Australia at 534 MT, Brazil at 492 MT, China at 443 MT, Russia at 412 MT. Smaller orders ranging 100-327 MT went to nine countries which jointly contributed 15.8%, made up of Japan, United Kingdom, Israel, Indonesia, France, Belgium, Malaysia, Chile, New Zealand. 
On the other hand, 27 other countries took delivery of loads under 100 MT (0.21-97 MT range) with combined participation of 9.0%.  This included Taiwan, Ecuador, Spain, Iraq, Thailand, Norway, South Africa, Poland, Uruguay, South Korea, Argentina, Sweden, Croatia, Denmark, Egypt, Colombia, Tunisia, Guatemala, Latvia, Paraguay, Mexico, Jordan, Greece, Saudi Arabia, Czech Republic, Singapore, India.

External trade of desiccated coconut in December was 13,954 MT worth USD47.571 million, nearly double last year’s USD25.503 million (+86.5%).  There were 39 importing countries counted during the month led by the USA which was responsible for 29.7% or 4,145 MT.  Trailing behind were Netherlands at 1,802 MT (12.9%) and Turkey at 1,000 MT (7.2%).   The next three leading destinations collectively accounted for 16.5% of the market: Canada at 952 MT, China at 740 MT and Australia at 614 MT.

A good number of buying countries (17) with significant uptake below 500 MT (100-489 MT range) together contributed 28.4% to total sales namely Indonesia, Germany, Brazil, France, United Kingdom, Israel, Russia, South Korea, Malaysia, Japan, Ecuador, Poland, South Africa, Argentina, Belgium, Sweden, Chile.  On the other hand, 16 countries with imports below 100 MT (11-83 MT range) had total participation of 5.3% or 740 MT.  This comprised of Iraq, Norway, Egypt, Italy, Thailand, Croatia, Lithuania, Denmark, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Taiwan, Slovenia, Hong Kong, Colombia, El Salvador, New Zealand.
